Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how TORVESS ("TORVESS," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on torvess.com (the "Site"), and how you can manage your preferences. This Policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which provides broader context on how we use your personal information.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the website owner about how the site is being used.
Cookies contain a unique anonymous identifier. Some cookies are set by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies"); others are set by third-party services operating on that website ("third-party cookies").
In addition to cookies, we may use similar technologies such as:
- Pixels (web beacons): Tiny, invisible images embedded in pages or emails that signal when content has been loaded. Used by analytics and advertising platforms to track conversions and measure campaign performance.
- Local storage: Browser storage used similarly to cookies for persisting small amounts of data between sessions.
- Session storage: Like local storage but cleared when you close your browser tab.
Where this Policy refers to "cookies," it covers all of the above technologies unless stated otherwise.
2. Cookie Categories We Use
We group the cookies used on the Site into three categories based on their purpose. Essential cookies are always active because the Site cannot function without them. Analytics and Advertising cookies are only activated after you provide your explicit consent through our cookie consent banner.
| Category | Cookie / Provider | Purpose | Duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Session cookie TORVESS (first-party) |
Maintains your active browsing session while you navigate the Site, including during checkout. Without this cookie the Site cannot function. | Session (deleted when browser closes) | |
| Essential | currency_pref TORVESS (first-party) |
Stores your selected display currency so prices are shown in your preferred currency across visits. | 1 year | |
| Essential | lang_pref TORVESS (first-party) |
Stores your selected language preference so the Site displays in your chosen language. | 1 year | |
| Essential | cookie_consent TORVESS (first-party) |
Records your consent decision (accepted / declined / specific category choices) so we do not show the consent banner on every page visit and so we can enforce your preferences. | 1 year | |
| Analytics | _ga, _ga_[ID] Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) |
Distinguishes unique visitors and tracks page views, session duration, and user navigation paths. Helps us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. Data is processed by Google under our data processing agreement and Google Consent Mode configuration. | _ga: 2 years; _ga_[ID]: 2 years | |
| Advertising | _gcl_au, _gcl_aw Google Ads (Google LLC) |
Measures the effectiveness of advertising campaigns by tracking conversions after an ad click. Enables remarketing audiences for Google Ads. Operates under Google Consent Mode; conversion modelling may be used when consent is not granted. | 90 days | |
| Advertising | _fbp Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) |
Tracks actions taken on the Site (page views, searches, purchases) and reports conversions to Meta (Facebook/Instagram) to measure advertising performance and enable custom audience targeting. Set only after consent is given. | 90 days |
Third-party providers (Google LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc.) may also set additional cookies or use tracking technologies as part of their services. Please refer to their respective privacy and cookie policies for full details:
3. Changing Your Consent
You can update your cookie preferences at any time. Changes take effect immediately and your new choice is saved for future visits.
Consent Banner (First Visit)
When you first visit the Site, a cookie consent banner is displayed at the bottom of the page. The banner gives you the choice to:
- Accept all cookies — enables Essential, Analytics, and Advertising cookies;
- Decline / Essential only — only Essential cookies are set; Analytics and Advertising cookies are blocked; or
- Manage preferences — opens a detailed panel where you can enable or disable Analytics and Advertising categories independently.
Changing Your Preferences After Initial Choice
You can revisit and change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of any page on torvess.com. This opens the same preference panel, allowing you to update your choices for non-essential cookie categories.
Withdrawing consent for Analytics or Advertising cookies does not affect any processing that occurred during the period your consent was active.
Google Consent Mode
We operate Google Analytics and Google Ads under Google Consent Mode. When you have not yet given consent or have declined Analytics/Advertising cookies, Google Consent Mode operates in a consent-denied state: cookies associated with those services are not set, and only aggregated, cookieless data (conversion modelling) may be used by Google to inform campaign performance reporting without identifying you. Full data collection resumes only when you grant consent.
4. Browser-Level Controls
In addition to using our consent banner, all modern browsers allow you to control cookies through your browser settings. You can configure your browser to block cookies, delete existing cookies, or alert you when cookies are being set. Note that blocking Essential cookies may prevent parts of the Site from working correctly.
Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:
- Chrome Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
- Opera Settings → Advanced → Privacy & security → Site settings → Cookies
You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from Google and Meta at a browser or account level using the following resources:
- Google Ads Settings — manage or opt out of personalized Google ads
- Meta Ad Preferences — manage your Meta advertising preferences
- NAI Opt-Out Tool (Network Advertising Initiative) — opt out from multiple ad networks at once
- DAA Opt-Out Tool (Digital Advertising Alliance) — additional industry opt-out tool
Please note that opting out through browser or industry tools does not remove cookies already set; you may still see advertisements, but they will not be tailored to your interests. Using our on-site consent banner is the most direct and effective way to manage TORVESS-specific cookie use.
